Ok so this is by far my favorite recipe for Paleo Hot Wings. They do take a bit of prep time and the cooking time is a low/slow deal but they are TOTALLY worth it.  Since the Whole Life Challenge (sadly) coincides with the start of Football season…these are a MUST. I had to remove a few ingredients to keep it WLC acceptable. The original recipe options Sriracha and Soy Sauce  – both a no-no on WLC.

I’ve tried before by utilizing a baking/grilling method and they were OK. They didn’t crisp like I wanted and there was, honestly, still a little more fat on those bones than I like on my wings. Still, they were a better option than the deep fried, sugar covered options at a sports bar so I stuck with it. No longer!
This recipe takes some time, albeit mostly wait time, but I promise they end up pretty darn delicious.

Mix together:
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup hot sauce (or more, depending on your heat preference.  I use Franks Red Hot.)
4 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper
4 tbsp coconut sminos (optional)

Add 3-4 lbs organic chicken wings and sauce into a big zip lock bag and let sit in the fridge for up to two days.

When you’re ready to cool them, preheat the oven to 325.

Put the wings on a rack in a baking sheet pan (a cookie cooling rack works great)…reserving extra marinade.

Cook for 1 hr 45 min, turning and basting with marinade every now and then.

Like I said, it takes some time by its so easy and SO worth it. Play around with the recipe when WLC is over! Add honey, or apricot jam, or try a different hot sauce…the baking method is what’s important for a really tasty at home wing.
